Office removals – machinery concerns

When you are moving a large office, you will notice that one of the main difficulties in terms of the bulk of the removal, is in the amount of machinery that you need to move. There is a huge amount to be said for ensuring that you can get everything packed up in a safe and secure way that makes the move easy to manage, but with some offices having hundreds and hundreds of computers, this can be a lot easier said than done! Having a think about such things well in advance of the move is important, as you don’t want to end up in a situation with a few broken monitors, or hardware that won’t start up after the move.

An office removal will always be in aid of furthering the company, whether it is upscaling or downsizing, and you need to keep the costs down and speed of reboot up, to ensure that you are not missing out on too many business days. With the move itself already taking up a couple of days, any broken technology will only add on to that burden, so it is essential that you avoid the problem form the outset by being really well prepared.

Transporting technology like computers, photocopiers, and all of the other things that your business needs is one of the main reasons that office moving companies are so important. The experience that they have in moving large volumes of technology as well as office furniture is invaluable, and this is why a normal moving company just won’t be as useful. You will often find that the best way to get to grips with how it all going to go ahead will be to talk to the moving company in advance of the move as to how they plan on getting the job done.

If you are trying to save money by avoiding using their own packing service, then they may be hesitant to tell you how to do things, in favor of doing it themselves, but they may well be fine with it, either way, it is worth asking for advice. You will find that most moving companies will sell boxes that will house computers perfectly, and with a little padding, you will have a perfect unit for each computer. Less regularly shaped pieces of equipment will need to placed in other boxes, and cared for individually. A moving company should be able to do all of this for you, and when they do, they will insure it as well. This means that you are fully confident that nothing will get broken because they are so well packed, but that should anything get broken, it will be replaced immediately.

You will likely find that the best way to go ahead with the job is with an office moving company doing the packing, but for some smaller offices this will not be a viable option, as they can be rather expensive. If this is the case, then you need to look into bulk buying boxes that are the right size, well in advance, so that you are fully accustomed with packing the units yourself. It may make sense to have each member of the staff pack their own computer and machinery, to ensure that the job is being spread out amongst the staff. If they are doing it themselves, then the hope will be that they take particular care with it, and nothing gets broken on the move.
